On December 22, at 6:50 pm officers responded to a local restaurant drive thru that was reporting a vehicle was waiting for their order and that open alcohol was observed in the vehicle. Police attended and spoke with the occupants. Two cans of Smirnoff Berry Blast were located open in vehicle approx. half full. As a result a 31 yr. old male and a 34 yr. old male from Langton were both charged with having an open container of liquor in other than a licenced premise, residence or private place contrary to the Liquor Licence Act.

Impaired Driving

On Friday, December 25, 2020, at 1:30 am officers on patrol observed a suspicious motor vehicle driving northbound on Elm Street towards the industrial area. The vehicle was observed to be spinning its tires doing “do-nuts” on the roadway.  A traffic stop of the vehicle was initiated which determined a 22 yr old male from Springfield, was operating the motor vehicle.  An odour of alcoholic beverage was detected and the male was required to provide a  breath sample into the approved roadside screening device.  A fail was registered and the male was taken into custody.  Breath samples back at the station determined the male’s blood alcohol concentration was 2 times the legal limit.  The male was later released with a court date, issued a 90 day licence suspension and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days
