Sexual Assault:
On 19th of October Aylmer Police received a complaint of a sexual assault. 17-year-old female from Aylmer disclosed that approximately 2 months ago she was at a residence in Aylmer. A male known to her was also present. Investigation revealed that the male inappropriately touched her for a sexual purpose. As a result, 22-year-old male from Dorchester was charged with sexual assault.
Drive over 80 Mgs.
On 25th of October 2020 at approximately 2:54 pm. officer on patrol clocked in a 2014 Chev SNT on Springwater Rd. travelling 89 km/hr in posed 60 km/hr. zone. The officer stopped the vehicle and spoke to the male driver. While speaking to the driver officer observed signs of impairment and a roadside test was administered resulting in a “fail” reading. As a result, male was arrested and transported to the station for further breath tests that resulted in readings twice the legal limit. 40 year old male from St. Thomas was subsequently charged with Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
Race a motor vehicle – Excessive Speed
On 25th of October 2020 at approximately 10:23 pm. officer was travelling on Talbot Line Malahide Township when he observed a vehicle travelling east bound on Talbot line at a high rate of speed. 2020 KIA was clocked in at 165 km/hr in posted 80 km/hr zone. As a result, officer stopped the vehicle and spoke to a 19-year-old female driver from Straffordville. She was subsequently charged with stunt driving. Her driver’s license was seized and vehicle towed.
Local citizen planned a “Freedom March”
A local 43-year-old female resident of Aylmer planned a “Freedom March” with a social media post focusing on “Medical freedom, Freedom and Getting Back to Normal”. Approximately 150 people attended the rally, which started at the Aylmer Palmer Park. Aylmer Police response was to ensure public safety, ensure orderly traffic flow and prevent breach of the peace. Aylmer Police respects citizen’s right to peaceful assembly and freedom of speech. Those in attendance marched the pre-planned route-using sidewalk. There were no issues id
