Charges laid for Sunday Church Service

On Sunday, May 16^th, 2021,  Aylmer  Police monitored the activities at the Church of God Restoration situated at 751 John St. North Aylmer ON. Police obtained footage of a large gathering and a makeshift outdoor church stage and seating area set up for the service. Police counted in excess of 200 vehicles and 400 + persons in attendance.  This is following a recent court ruling where the church was ordered locked and substantial fines levied against the Church, the pastor and the assistant.  The current provisions for an outdoor service is limited to 10 persons outdoors, or the option of a drive in service.   Emergency orders have been breached and the following charges were laid:

Church of God restoration with; Corporation – fail to comply with a continued section 7.0.2 order.

57 year old male from Aylmer, 26 Year old male from Aylmer and a 26 year old male from Steinbach, Manitoba with;  Individual – fail to comply with a continued section 7.0.2 order.

Stolen vehicle – recovered;

On November 18, 2020 at approximately 1:13 pm., Aylmer Police attended on Fourth Ave near South St W Aylmer ON. in regards to a report of a suspicious vehicle. Officer located a 2013 GMC SUV parked on Fourth Ave. unoccupied. Police investigation revealed that the vehicle was reported stolen to Oxford OPP. As a result, vehicle was seized and towed form the area and owner notified of the recovery.

Social Insurance Fraud;

On 20^th of November 2020, Aylmer police responded to a fraud complaint at a Victoria St. North address Aylmer ON. Police investigation revealed that a 25-year-old female was contacted by a female caller advising her that her social insurance number has been used fraudulently and to confirm her SIN. Female provided her SIN number to the caller and later realised that the call was fraudulent in nature. Aylmer Police provided the victim with fraud prevention tips. Residents are remained not to disclose their personal identification information to anyone unless they confirm that the source is representing a legitimate agency.

Internet employment opportunity Fraud:

On 20^th of November 2020 at approximately 8:45 pm., Aylmer police responded to a fraud incident that occurred at a residence on Clarence St. Aylmer ON. Police investigation revealed that on 10^th of November 2020 a 42-year-old female was on Facebook and was contacted by a “Synergy” company representative offering employment opportunity that required her to purchase $2000.00 worth of start up equipment. Complainant e-transferred the funds to the contact on Facebook later finding out that the company and the representative were fraudulent.

 

Vehicle fire:

On Sunday November 22, 2020 at 11:47 am., Aylmer Police responded to a vehicle fire call on York St. Aylmer ON. Police investigation revealed that a 43-year-old female and a 52-year-old male were inside a GMC Terrain vehicle using a propane grill for cooking purposes when the vehicle interior caught fire and became fully engulfed in flames causing an explosion. Local fire and EMS attended and the fire was extinguished. The vehicle was totally destroyed by fire.

43-year-old male of no fixed address received severe burns to his chest, legs and right arm. 52-year-old female of no fixed address received burns to her fingertips, forehead and hairline. They were both transported to St. Thomas Hospital for treatment.
